Preparation and Planning

I am going to China (Beijing - Xian – Tibet) for three weeks in two days’ time. Tibet is a dream come true. The idea of going to Tibet came to me while reading the “ The Adventures of Tintin -Tintin in Tibet” years ago. It was the first time I encountered its unique highland landscapes and exotic culture. I would like to have a close touch with Tibetan culture and nature and experience their way of living. It was a long desire in my mind to make this visit and I am on the way to doing just that.

Like travelling anywhere international, I believe proper preparation is necessary for a great trip and to make the most of my holiday. I have just obtained my Chinese visa, my travel insurance, my air tickets out and return home, and arranged my Tibet tour with both Tibet Travel Permit (TTB) and Alien’s Travel Permit (PSB), as foreign visitors are not allowed to travel individually to Tibet. What I have to do now is to pack my bag and get some altitude medication. In a few days, I will be standing on the roof of the world.
